Written By Mary Zimmerman
Metamorphoses is the Vancouver premiere of “the theatre event of the year” (Time magazine)! Written by Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winner Mary Zimmerman, directed by Christine Willes, and starring the 2007 graduating class and guest artists of the William Davis Centre for Actors’ Study, this is a theatrical event not to be missed! Set in and around a pool of water onstage, this play is a moving adaptation of Ovid’s myths. Be prepared to get wet! Will the gods bless you, or curse you?

You are invited to join the feuding clans of the Olio’s and Vinigari’s, as the head of the Vinigari’s family; Romano attempts to bring peace by hosting a dinner of peace to give his blessing to the young lovers Olivia Vinigari & Vino Olio. Somewhere along the way it all goes very wrong, murder is a foot and a will goes missing!
Watch as the warring family members search out the killer. Did the chef do it?
It is up to you and your guests to see if the murderer will be found guilty or go free...
Everyone in your party becomes part of the mystery!
Who knows, someone at your table may actually be the cowardly criminal who committed the dastardly deed tonight!
Maybe you will be the super-sleuth who foils the fiend and wins the evening's prize!
Enjoy a delicious meal with the professional cast of performers while you use your sleuthing skills to solve the crime, or just sit back and laugh the evening away! You could die laughing!
Format: Doors open at 7:00 pm and the show begins with a Cocktail Reception where you mingle with the members of the Vinigari & Olio families –
Listening for clues that will help you solve the evening’s mystery.
As the story unfolds, a family-style buffet dinner is served – and the plot thickens…… and so does the sauce!

THE COLD READING SERIES

The Cold Reading Series is usually run on Thursday nights at the ANZA Club all summer long, but is now in hiatus until the next season starting June 2007
Vancouver's original cold reading series was started over a dozen years ago by Angus Fraser and Kathleen Duborg and is still going strong under the guidance and leadership of Lori Triolo and Sarah Nixey. The event happens every Thursday night at the ANZA Club all summer long.
The CRS is now on its hiatus, having had its season finale on August 31, 2006. It begins every new season on the first Thursday in June and continues running until the last Thursday in August. There are also special events scheduled in the off season. For the latest CRS news, click here.
